Women Who Care (WWC) - A New Chapter
Driven by the desire to work together to make a difference and inspired by other Women Who Care groups around the United States, Canada, and the world, we have established a local chapter powered by amazing, caring women who strive to fill needs in our community, one drop at a time.
We are an informal group of women with a couple of things in common - a love of Monroe County and a need to help others. Therefore, we want to assure our members that 100% of our our donations go directly to the local charities selected at our quarterly meetings. The goal of our group is to support the wonderful work that our local charities do by contributing funds and shining a spotlight on their services.
What is WWC ?
- Karen Dunigan held the first meeting in 2006 in Jackson, Michigan. The group raised $12,800 in less than one hour for The Center for Family Health whose goal was to supply cribs for new mothers.
- Currently there are more than 525 actively operating chapters located throughout the world with more than 225 under development.
- Chapters encompass women’s groups, men’s groups, groups inclusive of both men and women, kids, and teens groups.
